    • Does your previous install instruction for v3.9 apply to the new DMASOFTLAB Radius Manager V4?

      Comment by Steve — February 17, 2012 @ 8:47 AM

      • I haven’t tried it yet.
Few options have been added in v4, so slight configuration might be different. But the core installation would be same I guess.
        Download its manual for v4.

    Comment by Nori — May 17, 2012 @ 6:39 PM

    • I have not worked with the Docsis module yet. Just configured RM once at a mini isp setup, afterward, didn’t get the chance to work more on it,

  8. I am using PppoE authentication on my radius manager 4 but when expires date for monthly prepaid services, disconnect command doesn’t work…. api and nas remote settings are OK… Any One any idea why…?

    Comment by Taip — June 2, 2013 @ 12:07 AM

    • Are you using Mikrotik as PPPoE Server?
Try using REMOTE in disconnection method.
The NAS disconnection method consumes less resource and more stable than Remote method, while Remote method supports all features of Radius Manager. When using Remote disconnection method,

ensure rmpoller daemon is running all the time.

Check the Winbox log for the incoming disconnection packet. The remote disconnection must work with all supported NAS types

  9. information is very useful but no firewall information provided even i asked dma for firewall support or some rule to secure server but they said we can configure mikrotik firewall for that . Please provide some rules to protect server Or just specified ip from which its should accept the request rest it will reject

    • There are certain ways you can secure your Radius Server.
Recommended method is to connect your radius with mikrotik on any empty port, then only valid and connected users will be able to communicate with Radius. This way you can also control who can access the radius and what ports can be accessible. Like allow only mikrotik to communicate with Radius, not other user should be able to touch it.

Other solution is to use IPTABLES rules to block access to ssh/80/and other ports accessible from certain ips only. I deployed this at a remote network and it worked fine (that network was flooded with ssh attacks) so I changed the ports/ and applied iptables security and it went well.
